How to validate tickets by TM Gate Agent App?

As an organizer at Ticketmelon, we offer you an application for scanning the QR for free so that you can take charge of your event entry!

1. What is TM Gate Agent Application

TM Gate Agent is an application for scanning E-tickets (QR Code) of every event on Ticketmelon.

The application will work with any smartphone with a camera and an internet connection for real-time ticket validation.

The application can be downloaded for free in the Google Play Store and App Store.

2. How to create a gate agent user

1. Go to the event dashboard and click ‘Gate Agent’ on the navigation bar.

2. Add your desired username after the generated 4 digits, select the ticket types and dates the account can validate, then click ‘Add Gate Agent’ button. (one user per device.)

3. The list of Gateagent users added will be shown.

4. Repeat Step 2 to add more Gate Agent Users. There can be up to 50 users per event.

3. How to use TM Gate Agent Application

1. Log in with Gate Agent user (created in event manager).

2. Event details will be displayed on the screen. You can also view the list of ticket types and event dates which this username can validate here.

3. Click the ‘Validate’ icon to start scanning tickets.

4. Scan the QR Code on the attendee’s ticket.

If the QR Code is valid (The ticket is scanned successfully), a green check will appear with the ticket details.

If the QR Code is invalid, a red ‘X’ mark will be shown as following.

  • Used - the ticket has already been validated. Click ‘Activity log’ icon. You can check tickets that have already been scanned on this page and you can see more details such as the date and time when the ticket was scanned by clicking the dropdown button. The details will be shown below the ticket status.

  • Failed – The error code and the description will appear on the screen. You can check the cause of failing by the error code and the description e.g. Code65 - Ticket not found, Code70 - Order not found, Code101 - No permission to scan this ticket types

Please try scanning with ‘Manual Validation’.If it’s still failed, that means the tickets cannot be used to enter the event.

You can validate tickets manually using ‘Manual Validation’ function by entering the 9-digit code (Dash, No dash), then click ‘Validate’. The ticket status will be shown.

You can click the ‘Activity log’ tab to check the scan log of the Gateagent user. The scan log will only include history on the device, meaning if you log in with the same Gateagent user on another device, you will not see the same log on the new device.

Note: Attendee’s tickets can be found in ticket buyer’s email and in ‘My Tickets’ when the ticket buyer logs in to Ticketmelon website. Click here to learn more about how ticket buyers can access the tickets.
